What Do Straub Volunteers Do?

As a Straub volunteer, your assignments will be matched to your abilities. Opportunities are available in the following areas:

  • Information Desk
  • Gift Shop
  • Surgical Admission Center
  • Pharmacy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Emergency Department
  • Marketing
  • Various Clerical Areas

Limited opportunities are also available at select satellite clinics.

Noon to 4:00pm and 8:00am to 12:00 noon

Gift Shop
Weekdays and Saturday (November to December)
8:15am to 12:15pm and 12:15 to 4:15 p.m.

Who Can Become a Straub Volunteer?

  • Anyone 16 years or older
  • Anyone in good health
  • Anyone able to commit to 6 months of service
  • Anyone able to serve at least one 4 hour shift a week

Retirees, students, part-time or full-time workers, and professionals are welcome.

Benefits

Benefits include free parking, a free beverage, and a free meal at a specified amount from the cafeteria for every 4 hour shift worked.

To Become a Straub Volunteer

  • Call the Volunteer Program Coordinator or volunteer hotline at (808) 522-4987 or pick up application at the gift shop or information desk.
  • Schedule an appointment to attend the initial orientation - orientations are conducted in small groups. Once a volunteer is assigned to a department and in-depth orientation is given as well as on the job training.

Gifts, gifts and more gifts!! Cards, candy and magazines too. Gifts for all occasions, many fine handmade by local crafts people. Fine china, crystal objects art, costume jewelry and of course angels are waiting to become gifts for all your favorite people including yourself.

Floral bouquets large and small, leis, loose flowers are available for all occasion gift giving. Special orders may be made for floral arrangements or leis. Customers can also purchase stamps and pre-paid phone cards.
